Lyman Clifford was born in 1809 at New York.1 Leander and Lyman was probably a free white male, age under 10, in Calvin Clifford's household on the 1810 Census at Sheldon, Genessee County, New York; now Wyoming County (same town as John Rolph); Calvin Clifford 201202011000
2 free white male 0 thru 9; 1 male 16 thru 25; 2 26 thru 44; 2 females 0 thru 9; 1 female 16 thru 25; 1 female 26 thru 44. Leander and Lyman could be the 2 free white males 0 thru 9; don't know the 1 male 16 thru 25; Calvin would be 26 thru 44 (born 1766-1784). Given that we have 1 male 16 thru 25 (let's say 16, born 1794), if a son, born when Calvin was about 20, would make him born c 1774.2 Lyman Clifford witnessed the census 1820 of Calvin Clifford and Elinor Davis; now Erie County; Calvin Clifford, 2 males 0-9, 1 male 10-15, 1 male 45 years and over; 2 females 16-25; 1 female 26-44. Ellena could be the female 26-44, born perhaps about 1780; Calvin the over 45, perhaps born about 1775; 2 males 0-9 could include Leonard (born 1820), and perhaps Lyman (born 1809/1810); the one male 10-15 could be Leander; the two females 16-25 could include Amelia.
The only other Clifford in 1820 Niagra census is Moses Clifford in Aurora, Niagra County. 5 males 0-9; 1 male 10-15; 1 male 26-44; 2 females 10-15; 1 female 26-44. Both Clifford and Calvikn have 1 person each engaged in agriculture.3 Lyman was probably a free white male, age 15 and under 20, in Calvin Clifford's household, on the 1830 Census at Wales, Erie County, New York; Calvin Clifford 1 male 10-14 (Leonard 10); 1 male 15-19 (Lyman, 19?); 1 male 20-29 (Leander 24); 1 male 50-59 (Calvin, born 1770-1780); 1 female 5-9 (Alzina); 1 female 40-49 (Ellena 47).      Leander Clifford was born on 19 May 1806 at New York.1,2 Leander and Lyman was probably a free white male, age under 10, in Calvin Clifford's household on the 1810 Census at Sheldon, Genessee County, New York; now Wyoming County (same town as John Rolph); Calvin Clifford 201202011000
Given that we have 1 male 16 thru 25 (let's say 16, born 1794), if a son, born when Calvin was about 20, would make him born c 1774.3 Leander Clifford witnessed the census 1820 of Calvin Clifford and Elinor Davis; now Erie County; Calvin Clifford, 2 males 0-9, 1 male 10-15, 1 male 45 years and over; 2 females 16-25; 1 female 26-44.
Both Clifford and Calvikn have 1 person each engaged in agriculture.4 Leander was probably a free white male, age 20 and under 30, in Calvin Clifford's household, on the 1830 Census at Wales, Erie County, New York; Calvin Clifford 1 male 10-14 (Leonard 10); 1 male 15-19 (Lyman, 19?); 1 male 20-29 (Leander 24); 1 male 50-59 (Calvin, born 1770-1780); 1 female 5-9 (Alzina); 1 female 40-49 (Ellena 47). Same page with John Rolph.5 He married Hannah Dyer Aylesworth at Illinois on 19 November 1832.1,2 Calvin and Leander was listed as Hannibal Ward's neighbor on the 1840 Census at Du Page, Will County, Illinois; Hannibal Ward 1 male 5-9 (Sylvester 9); 1 male 30-39 (Hannibal 39); 2 females 0-4 (Nancy 3 plus one other unknown); 1 female 5-9 (Celestine 9); 3 females 10-14 (Altena 12; Maria 14; unknown other); 1 female 30-39 (Jane); Leander Clifford and Calvin Clifford, neighbors.6 Leander was listed as the head of a family on the 1840 Census at Du Page, Will County, Illinois. Leander Clifford 1 male 5-9 (Winchester 5); 1 male 10-14 (unknown); 1 male 30-39 (Leander 34); 1 female 5-9 (unknown); 1 female 15-19; Hannah?).7 Leander was listed as the head of a family on the 1850 Census at Du Page, Will County, Illinois. 29, 30 Leander Clifford 44 male farmer $2000 b NY; Hannah Clifford 34 female b RI; Winchester 15 male b IL attends school; Edwin 7 male b IL attends school; Mary 4 female b IL attends school; Augustus Aylworth 29 male carpenter $1500 b RI; Mary E. I (Gary Rolph, Feb 03) have changed the date to c 1734 based on when Rebecca would have wed Henry Jaques. This also allies with the date of birth of Ruth's husband, also born 1734.1 As of circa 1753,her married name was Hubbell.1 She married Nathaniel Hubbell Jr. circa 1753 at New Jersey.1 Ruth Jaques died in July 1795 at Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania; place is speculation based on death place of husband.1
