one thousand dollars thereof to be laid out in bank stok or put to interest at the direction of my executors and the annual interest thereof to be applied by my executors to the support of my son Charles Boyd during his natural life and at his death the said one thousand dollars to be equally divided between my four sons John Boyd William Boyd Elijah Boyd and Elisha Boyd.
Item it is my will and I do direct my Executors to pay to my grand children sons and daughters of Mary Munford now dead the following sums out of the money arising from the sale of my said plantation, to wit, to Sarah Munford four pounds Virginia currency to Mary Munford four pounds of like currency to John Munford eight pounds Virginia currency to James Munford four pounds of like currency & to Margaret Munford four pounds of like currency to be paid to them & to each of them by my Executors at the time of their marriage or at the arrival at the age of twenty one years provided the land should be sold and the money received for the sale thereof before the several periods at which they may marry or arrive to the age of twenty one years then & in that case the said legacies are not to be paid until the money should be received and if any of my said grandchildren should die before they arrive to the age of twenty one years or before they should marry then the share of such I gave and bequeath to my four sons John William Elijah and Elisha to be equally divided amonst them.
Item I give and bequeath to my daughter Rachel Bailey eighty dollars to be paid to her and of the money arising from the sale of my land in five annual payments aftter the same may be received but if she should die before the whole or any part thereof should be received then it is my will that the same may be equally divided between her children as they may marry or arrive at the age of twenty one years if the money arising from the sale of my lands should then be received if not then said legacy is not to be paid until the said money shallbe received
Item it is my will that all my personal or moveable estate (except two cows two featherbeds and bedding and such other parts of my household and kithen furniture as my wife Sarah may wish to keep) be sold at the direction of my executor and the money arising from the sale be put to interest for the purpose as before mentioned until the death of my wife & my son Charles of the longest lives of them and after their death to be equally divided amongst my four sons John William Elijah and Elisha.
Item it is my will if any Debts should be owing by me that they should be paid and of the first money arising from the sale of my personal estate
Item I give and bequeath to my daughter Margaret the sum of thirty dollars to be paid to her by my executor out of the money arising from the sale of my lands as soon as the same may be received and if she should die before that timethen I will & bequeath the same to her son John Sutton and if he should die beforethat period then the said sum of thirty dollars to be equally divided between my four Sons John Wililiam Elijah and Elisha.
Item it is my will that mulatto Mill shall be free atthe age of twenty one years which period it is my will that she shall belong to my wife Sarah Boyd and be entirely at her disposal in case should die before the said Mill arrives at the age of twenty one years
Item I will and bequeath all the balance of the money arising from the sale of my lands and all the rest & residue of my estate of whatsoever kind to my four sons John Boyd William Body Elijah Boyd Elisha Boyd to be equally divided amongst them and it is my intent and meaning that the several Devises before mentioned to my four sons John Willliam Elijah Elisha shall be to them and each of them and each of their heirs forever.
Item I will and direct the cows, featherbeds, household and kitchen furniture before mentioned devised to my wife Sarah during her natural life to besold after the death of my wife Sarah Boyd and the money arising from the sale thereof to be put to interest for the benefit and support of my son Charles Boyd during his natural life and after his death principal sum to be between my four sons John William Elijah Elisha and their heirs forever.
Item I will and bequeath to my son Charles during his natural life one feather bed and bedding and lastly I do constitute and appoint my son Elisha Boyd sole Executor of this m last will and testament and do by this my last will authorize and impower him to sell my lands whereon I liv as before mentioned contained and decribed in three different patents or Deeds and do impower him the convey the same to the purchaser or purchaser my said Executor being authorized to sell the said lands for ca or upon a credit as he may think proper.4 She married William Drysdale at Switzerland County, Indiana, on 18 July 1825.1 Her married name was Drysdale.2 Margaret "Peggy" Munford was no children mentioned p. 36 between 1826 and 1850 at Indiana.1 She died between 1861 and 1870 at Mound, Effingham County, Illinois.5,3
