"I John Webster late of Hartford in the jurisdiction of Connecticut being weak of body yett sound of mind and having my perfect understanding doe ordayne this to be my last will and testament in manner following--
Imprimis . I committ my soule into the hands ofthe Almighty and most mercifull hoping to be saved by the alone merritts of the Lord Jesus Christ being washed w'th his blood and clothed with his righteousness and santifyed by the Holy Ghost. Amen.
My body also I bequeath to the earth to be interrd with comely bureall (if at this time I be taken out of this world) in some part of the New Plantation on ye east side of the river agt Northampton.      John Marsh was born on 5 July 1726 at New Hartford, Litchfield County, Connecticut.2 He married Lucretia Seymour on 2 February 1758 at Hartford, Hartford County, Connecticut.2 He witnessed Lucretia Seymour's death at Hartford, Hartford County, Connecticut, on 13 May 1758.2 John Marsh married Sarah Nash say 1759 at Hartford County, Connecticut.2 He witnessed Sarah Nash's death at New Hartford, Litchfield County, Connecticut, on 17 July 1775.2 He married Miriam Webster at Hartford County, Connecticut, on 27 November 1777.1,2 John Marsh died in 1805 at Paris, Oneida County, New York.2

     John Marsh was born in April 1618 at Braintree, County Essex, England; perhaps Braintree, County Essex.2,3 He married Anne Webster at Hartford, Hartford County, Connecticut, circa 1642.2 He witnessed an unknown person 's death at Northampton, Hampshire County, Massachusetts, on 9 June 1662. Thence he changed to Northampton, where, June 9, 1662, his wife, Anne Webster, died.2 He married Hepzibah Lyman at Northampton, Hampshire County, Massachusetts, on 7 October 1664.2 John Marsh died on 28 September 1688 at Windsor, Hartford County, Connecticut, at age 70; where, Sept 28 1688, John Marsh died -- p. 30
Marsh Genealogy - "There can be no question that John Marsh in 1688 was "of Hadley" and not of Northampton or Hartford, and a to the place of his death that it was Windsor, CT, where his daughter Hannah (Marsh) Loomis then lived."2,4

     Anne Webster was baptized on 29 July 1621 at Cossington, County Leicester, England; supposedly from the Church of England. Parish Church of Cossington (Leicestershire) Bishop's Transcripts, Baptisms, marriages, and burials 1562-1831, microfilm at Famiy History Library;
Garth Watson's post in Webster Family Genealogy Forum suggests baptism date is 29 Jul 1621.2,3,4 Her married name was Marsh.1 She married John Marsh at Hartford, Hartford County, Connecticut, circa 1642.5 John Webster IV mentioned Anne Marsh in a will on 25 June 1659 at Hadley, Hampshire County, Massachusetts; "In the Northampton Mass Probate Records, pages 20 and 21 is recorded the following instrument, attested as a true copy of the last Will and Testament of Mr. John Webster, late of Hadley, deceased:
"I John Webster late of Hartford in the jurisdiction of Connecticut being weak of body yett sound of mind and having my perfect understanding doe ordayne this to be my last will and testament in manner following--
Imprimis . I committ my soule into the hands ofthe Almighty and most mercifull hoping to be saved by the alone merritts of the Lord Jesus Christ being washed w'th his blood and clothed with his righteousness and santifyed by the Holy Ghost. Amen.
My body also I bequeath to the earth to be interrd with comely bureall (if at this time I be taken out of this world) in some part of the New Plantation on ye east side of the river agt Northampton. MOreover my worldly goods wch the Lord hath blessed me with and left me as a father's portion, I bestow as followeth.
To my Deare and beloeved wife Agnes Webster I give one bed and comely furniture for ye same. As also my hosue and lands in Hartford all the profits of the same during her natural life. And upon her decease all shall come into the hand and be at ye disposal of my executor.
Item, to my son Matthew Webster I give the summ of ten pounds.
Item, to my son William Webster I give the summ of seventy pounds.
Item, to my son Thomas Webster I give ye summ of fifty pounds.
Item, to my daughter Marsh I give ye summ of twenty pounds.
Item, to my daughter Markham I give ye summ of forty pounds.
To be grandchild Jonathan Hunt I give the summ of forty shillings.
To my grandchild Mary Hunt I give ye summ of ten pounds.
To all my grandchldren else in N England I give ten shillings apiece.
To Mary the wife of William Holton of Northampton in part of recompence for her great love and paynes for me I give forty shillings.
To my son Robert Webster I give all the remainder of my estate of one kind and another, whom also I doe apoynt and ordayn to be my sole and full executor of this my last will and testament.
My will further is that the foresaid legacys should be paid within fifteen months after my decease soe farr as my personall estate (that is all my estate besides homes and lands) will reach and the rest within eighteeen months after my wives decease.
Which of the legacys shall be paid firwst or how much of them I leave to the discretion and faithfulness of my son Robert desiring yt if there appeare any difference he would in it take and act by the advise of my loving friends Natanell Ward and Andrew Bacon who have been acquainted with much of my mind herein. ONly my just debts I would have first paid before ye legacys as also my funerall expenses.
My lot at the New Plantation with ye accomodations thereunto belonging and I give to my sons William and Thomas upon condition of their inhabiting there as I myself was ingaged to doe weh is also my desire they should--
And soe doeing to have it equally divided between them.
In witness hereof I have sett to my hand this present 25 of Jun 1659.

     Hepzibah Ford was baptized on 15 May 1625 at Holy Trinity Ch, Dorchester, Dorset, England.1 She was widow of Richard Lyman of Northampton.2,1 She married Richard Lyman in 1640 at Windsor, Hartford County, Connecticut.3 She witnessed Richard Lyman's death at Hartford, Hartford County, Connecticut, on 3 June 1662.3 She married John Marsh at Northampton, Hampshire County, Massachusetts, on 7 October 1664.2 Her married name was Marsh.1 Her married name was Lyman.1 Hepzibah Ford died on 11 April 1683 at Northampton, Hampshire County, Massachusetts, at age 57.4
