The citation is to the Mayflower Families through Five Generations, Vol. 1, p. 96. The authors, after study of the original records, dispute that the "William White" that was betrothed to "Ann Fuller" 27 Jan 1612 is the same as the Pilgrim William White. The Leiden William White, they claim, was still living in Leiden until 1631, when he was buried at St. Pancras Church. Based on this information, I have de-linked Susanna from Robert, Frances, Edward, and Samuel. Bowman (Pilgrim Notes and Queries) disproves William White's wife being "Susanna Tilley." with Susanna ?2

Throughout her many years, several articles were written about her in local newspapers.

“INCIDENTS IN AN OLD LADY’S LIFE, By Elder Henry Sheets
Not long since, I was passing Silver Hill and knowing the extreme age of Mrs. Ruth Gallimore, I called to see her. For one of her age she possesses a wonderful amount of vitality. Her mental faculties are well preserved. She was born March 1, 1810, and is now in her ninety-seventh year; an age which few attain to. She lives alone and does her housework. This is not of necessity, but of choice. A short time before, she had walked a mile to a neighbor’s and then back home. Last fall she walked some distance to the store, bought wool rolls and spun “stocking yarn”. She keeps a few fowls – all because she cannot be contented to sit down and fold her hands. She must be doing something to engage her mind. Having lived a busy life, enforced idleness would probably shorten her days. Let the old people do something; they will be happier and more contented. Her husband, Jesse Gallimore, has long since gone to the eternal city. He was highly esteemed in his day as a Christian gentleman. He was perhaps best known as a school teacher. He was regarded as amongst the very best in his day. It is a privilege to pay this tribute to his memory. It was fifty-six years ago that the writer attended his first school, taught by Mr. Gallimore. Mrs. Gallimore’s maiden name was Wright. She is a sister of Mr. Micajah Wright, living some distance from Cid. She made a profession of faith in Christ and was baptized into the fellowship of Old Tom’s Creek Church in Emmons Township, Davidson County, by Elder Jesse Sowel, about 1830 or ’31. She is now a member of the church at New Tom’s Creek, in contradistinction to the old church which disbanded. She has been in the Christian race about seventy-five years, a long time to be “walking with God.” During my stay she told me how conviction seized her soul when she saw her husband join the church – she felt that she was left. Then she had her place near the spring where she went to “beg”. It was at this place she found Jesus precious. She is ready to go when the Master calls. Death has no terrors for her. A soul almost ripe – ready to be gathered into the garden on high. I thought of sanctification as I sat at her feet and learned. How near the point, and yet sin troubles her, because she is not yet freed from the flesh. Many imagine themselves to be “sanctified” and profess it – claiming sinless perfection. How sad to be thus deluded! The very best men and women do not claim it. Mrs. Gallimore looks as though she might be spared to round out a hundred years. God bless this mother in Israel. One of her daughters, Mrs. J.M. Primm, lives near her, ready to minister to any and very want. Soon she will join her husband in the courts above the skies. O, happy meeting! Heaven so near.” This story took place when Ruth Wright Gallimore was 97 years of age.

NOTE: Elder Henry Sheets, pastor of New Friendship church, On January 4, 1892, they met in the old Centerville School auditorium and held a worship service, four miles south, preached a sermon and continued preaching on the fourth Sunday evening of each month. In the early days of Southside Baptist Church, Rev. Sheets would go out to the barn, hitch his horse up to the buggy, and drive all the way from Lexington (20 miles) to preach once a month. No paved roads existed in that day, so he had to travel the dirt road all the way, which in the winter time became almost impassible sometimes in foul, wet weather or snow. he would encounter mud up to the hub at places. To keep his feet warm, he put a lantern and some heated bricks under the wool lap robe while he was driving, but he endured those hardships for he was a man of God and his heart and soul was in his work for the advancement of the kingdom of our Lord in bringing his messages to the early Christians and other people of Southside Baptist Church. But it was good when on Sunday he would be invited out for chicken dinners prepared for him by different members of the congregation! Ruth Wright Gallimore Obituary She Passed Away at the Ripe Old Age of 101 – She Was Probably Oldest Woman in the State.

The following is information as printed in The Dispatch in Lexington, North Carolina about 1912

“Mrs. Ruth Gallimore of Silver Hill died last week after having lived on this earth for mor than a century. She was born March 1, 1810, when James Madison was president of the United States. In her babyhood, the war of 1812 was fought and the days of her childhood were fraught with perils from the wild beasts of the forest and the wilder Indians.

Her father was Richard Wright, a Baptist minister. In that day there were no Missionary Baptists or Primitive Baptists. They were all Baptists – followers of a creed as stern and austere as that of the Pilgrim Fathers. Miss Kara Kittrell, mother of Mrs. Gallimore, was Mr. Wright’s second wife. It is interesting to note that each of his wives bore him twelve children, each bearing one pair of twins and each ‘set’ of children being divided alike – six sons and six daughters.

Ruth Wright married Jesse Gallimore, a teacher and one of the leaders of the community, Nov. 13, 1828. He died 34 years ago, after having lived a life of great usefulness.

Sometime ago The Dispatch printed a remarkable photograph, showing the aged lady and four generations of her descendants. In the picture were Mrs. Ruth Gallimore, 101 years old, Mrs. J. M. Prim, her daughter, 80 years old; Mrs. E. L. Stoner, granddaughter, 50 years old; Mrs. Will Apperson, great-granddaughter, 22 years old; Master Vaughan Apperson, great-great grand son, 6 years old. The Charlotte Observer asked for this remarkable photograph and ran it in one of its Sunday issues.

Of the nine children of Mrs. Gallimore, but three are now living. They are: Mrs. J. M. Prim, of Silver Hill; Mrs. W. K. Dickens, of Asheboro, and Mrs. S. A. Hamilton, who came from Denver, Col., a few years ago to live with her mother. Mrs. Gallimore was undoubtedly the oldest person in Davidson County and probably the oldest in the state.”

At her death Ruth Wright Gallimore was slightly past being 102 years young.
