Eli Douglas fell dead last Saturday (26 Aug 1905) at the supper table of Bright’s disease, aged 75 years,
and was buried in Jonesboro Cemetery. He was born in Union County and lived six years in California during the 1850s. He was a pensioned veteran of the Civil War. He left a widow, one son, Fred Douglas, of Alexander County; one brother, Henry Douglas, of south of Jonesboro; and two sisters, Mrs. Levi White, of Anna, and Mrs. D.J.
