     Hannah Ketcham was born on 25 June 1750 at Suffolk County, New York.1 Hannah Ketcham was also known as Hannah Ketchum.1 She witnessed the taxing of Benjamin Ketcham in 1754 at Crum Elbow, Town of Amenia, Dutchess County, New York; not in 1753 tax list, so perhaps moved to Dutchess County in 1754?2 As of circa 1770,her married name was Kenyon.1 She married John Kenyon at Dutchess County, New York, circa 1770.1 Hannah, Elizabeth, Mary, Betsey and Sarah was probably a free white female in John Kenyon's household on the 1790 Census at Schaghticoke, Rensselear County, New York; then Schaghticoke, Albany County, NY
"In the census of 1790 he [John Kenyon] was living in Schaghticoke, Albany County, New York, with a family of two males over 16, three males under 16, and four females."
2 males over 16 (John [45] and perhaps Benjamin [20]);
three males under 16 (perhaps John [12], Ephraim [11] and Israel [2]; and
four females (wife Hannah [40], Mary [13], Betsey [10] and Sarah [6]. Elizabeth [19] already married by 1790 and not living in family. This probably also indicates that Hannah's mother and father were not living with them at this time.1 John and Hannah immigrated, on 3 May 1803. Destination: an unknown place .1 Hannah was probably a free white female, age 45 or over, in John Kenyon's household on the 1810 Census at Onondaga County, New York; John Kenyan 1 male 16-25; 1 male 45+; 1 female 10-15; 1 female 45+.3 Hannah Ketcham died on 8 June 1829 at Onondaga County, New York, at age 78.1

John Kenyon1

M, b. 3 February 1745, d. 20 October 1843
     John Kenyon was born on 3 February 1745 at Dutchess County, New York; son of Benjamin Kenyon (1720-1814) and his first wife Lydia Chappell (say 1722 - 1756).
"John Kenyon, b 3 Feb 1745 in Dutchess County, NY"
John's father, Benjamin, "in 1775, at the beginning of the Revolutionary War. . .with a large number of other heads of families in Dutchess County, many of them Quakers, refused to sign the "Patriots pledge" to support and help carry out 'whatsoever measures might be adopted by the Continental Congress of the United Colonies.' But at least three of hisfour sons were members of the New York militia during the Revolution. John was in the 5th Regiment, Benjamin in the 1st, and Comfort in the 6th Regiment. All were privates. Benjamin Jr's last name was spelled "Kunnion" in the State Comptroller's office at Albany.1 He married Hannah Ketcham at Dutchess County, New York, circa 1770.1 John Kenyon In the Revolutionary War he served as a private in the 5th Regiment of the New York militia from Dutchess County. He had land bounty rights for his war service.
"Jon Kenyon with a group of other soldiers, received a land grant or bounty for services in the Revolution. It is shown in Volume 21, Folio III of the 'Records ofthe Colony and State of New York in the Revolutionary War. This record is in the Comptroller's office in Albany, as stated in a certified copy of the record in DAR local records at Valley Falls, NY."1 He witnessed the birth of Benoni Kenyon on 4 December 1789 at Schaghticoke, Rensselaer County, New York; son of Benjamin Kenyon (1746-1831) and nephew of John Kenyon
Benjamin "came to Schaghticoke New York in May of 1795 and brought the money to pay for his farm, all in silver, in a cask. Before leaving for Schaghticoke, NY he left behind his son Benjamin who had died at two years of age, and had just buried Sarah who died at age of five. He moved here along with his brother John's family [Gary note: Sarah died 1783 and Benjamin and John probably came to Schagticoke Rensselear County NY about 1784].
On 12 May 1783, John and Benjamin Kenyon Jr bought of Peter Benway, for 200 pounds, his lease of 187 acres of land in Schaghticoke. This farm is about three miles east of the Hudson River. Until 1791, Schagticoke was in Albany County but was then transfered to Renssselear. Its western boundary is the Hudson River. In 1783 this section was largely wilderness. Bears, wolves, and other wild animals were frequently seen and killed.
The leased farm was held to the city of Albany by the condition that once every year, forever, the owners of the lease must deliver to certain city officials 'forty scheckels of good mercantile wheat.'
In a letter dated 11 Feb 1785, by John and Benjamin Kenyon of Schagticoke, was laid before the Board of Albany by his worship the Mayor, requesting to purchase the land, now in their improvement or to have a renewal of their leases.
The matter was laid over for future consideration. And twenty years later, in 1805, Benjamin Kenyon, having bought John's share of the farm, signed an agreement with the Albany officials, to pay them annually for six years the sum of $750.00 at 7% interest. The last payment on this debt was probably the one given for which on 23 Septmber 1811, a receipt was givn by Albany to Benjamin forthe payment of $263.90 on the principal, and $18.47 in interest. This receipt was found in Benjamin's papers about one hundred years later.
An addition was made to the house for Benoni and Hannah (Ketchum) Kenyon and their daughter Elizabeth.
For many years after their arrival in Schagticoke, New York, the families of John and Benjamin Kenyon lived in a single log house. Later they lived about a quarter mile apart in separate story and a half frame dwellings. The original log house was built in a comfortable 'hollow below gthe woods.1' John was listed as the head of a family on the 1790 Census at Schaghticoke, Rensselear County, New York. Then Schaghticoke, Albany County, NY
"In the census of 1790 he [John Kenyon] was living in Schaghticoke, Albany County, New York, with a family of two males over 16, three males under 16, and four females."
2 males over 16 (John [45] and perhaps Benjamin [20]);
three males under 16 (perhaps John [12], Ephraim [11] and Israel [2]; and
four females (wife Hannah [40], Mary [13], Betsey [10] and Sarah [6]. Elizabeth [19] already married by 1790 and not living in family. This probably also indicates that Hannah's mother and father were not living with them at this time..1 He was granted land John Kenyon, with a group of other soldiers, received a land grant or bounty for services in the Revolution. It is shown in Volume 21, Folio III of the "Records of the Colony and State of NY in the Revolutionary War." This record is in the Comptroller's Office in Albany, as stated in a certified copy of the record in DAR local records at Valley Falls, NY. circa 1800.1 John and Hannah immigrated, on 3 May 1803.
