     Catherine Lippard was born say 1760 at Pennsylvania.2 She married husband Sossaman at Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, say 1780.3,2 As of 1780,her married name was Sossaman.3 She witnessed husband Sossaman's death at Rowan County, North Carolina, say 1800.3,2 Catherine Lippard married John Misenheimer, son of Johann Jakob Misenheimer and Anna Margaretha Ritter, circa 1801 at Rowan County, North Carolina; not listed in 1800 census.1,4 As of 1801,her married name was Meisenheimer.2 Catherine Lippard no children?1 As of 1828, Catherine Lippard was also known as Catherine Misenheimer.5 She mentioned Catherine Lippard in a will on 27 December 1828 at Cabarrus County, North Carolina; Last will and testament of John Misenheimer
In the name of God Amen. I John Misenheimer of the county of Cabarrus and State of North Carolina, being weak of body but sound ofmind and memory, thanks be to God, calling to mind the mortality ofmy body and knowing it is forall men to die, do make and ordain this my last will and Testament. That is to say,
First and principally I give and recommend my soul into the hands of the Almighty God that gave it and my body to the earth from whence it was taken, to be buried in a decent Christian buial at the discretion of my executors, nothing doubting but at the general resurrection shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God.
And as touching those earthly things wherewith it has pleased God to bless me with in this world, I give, devise and dispose of them in manner and formfollowing,viz:
Firstly, I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Catherine Misenheimer, her own bed and bed stand, two cows her choice, one ball horseand her saddle and bridle,tghe bureau or chest which she chooses the walut corner cupboard a spinning wheel, one small table, iron pots, earthenware, pewter plates and dishes, spoons, knives and forks, ladels, frying pan, delpware, water pails, tubs, casks, chairs all her choice besides she shall shall have full privilege to choose such aother articles as are notmetioned alll of which she shall enjoy and have possession of during her natural life or widowhood, but if in case she should hange my name then shall these articles be sold at public sale, and of the money arising from said sale she shall have one-third and wha use the balance shall be put too willbe mentioned hereafter.
Secondly, it is my will that all my just debts and funeral charges shall be paid before any division is made.
Thirdly, I give and bequeath unto my son Solomon Misenheimer, my plantatin whereon i now live, adjoining Ritchey, Cress and his own land, and others, containing 285 acres, be the same more or less. Andmy son Solomon for and in consideration of the land bequeatghed to him shall pay $385.oo in the following manner, viz
to my daughter Peggy leapard, fifty-five dollars, to my daughter Betsy Coleman, fifty-five dollars, to my daughter Sophia fifty five dollars, to my daughter Polly fifty five dollars and to my daughter Sally's chil, my grandchild Henrietta, fifty-five dollars, and to my daughter Nancy, fifty-five dollars.There are notes against some of my daughters and son-in-law in my opossession, due to me, which notes shall be deducted out of each ones share, respectively, and my son,Solomon shall not be obliged to payh more than the balance after such notes are deducted. It is also my will that my son Solomon will not be compeeled to pay any of the above mentioned money until two years after my decease.
It is my will that my son Solomon hold and occupy the land bequeated to him above, but not sell it during the life or widowhood of his mother, unless by her consent.
Fourthly, it is my will that my son Solomon give such maintenance as wwill be mentioned, viz 125 pounds of good sound stall fatted port, 80 pounds of good and stall fatted beef well salted and cured; 16 pounds of good sugar, 8 pounds of good coffee, and also asmuch salt and spice as she wants for her ownuse, and also four gallons of whiskey or brandy, he shll allow her privilege to dry appleas many as are necessay for her use, he shal give her one pound of green tea, 10 pounbds of good spinning toe, 8 pounds of flax, 8 pounds of cotton, all of a good quality and six pounds of wool Allthese articles ready for spinning and that yearly and every year
Fifthly my sonSolomon will ive to his mother as she whall want all good and fresh, he shall keep; during her life or widowhood, her cowas and horse in feed as his own, he shall have the privileg to use the horse only whenhis mother is not using him
6th - My son Solomon shallgive his mother free use of and privilege of the small garden - Likewise to furnish her with as many Irish and sweet potatoes as she shall want to use, he shall treat and nurse his mother in sickness as an obligaton and dutiful child is in duty bound to do.
My wife Catherine shall have tghe privilege of my house to live in at her own choice and my son Solomon shall provide her a plenty of firewood and light wood ready cut to put on the fire - when necessary or required he shall take particular care of his mother when she should become helpless, likewise my executors shal pay her six dollars yearly.
9th -- It is my will and I do hereby declare, constitute,and appoint my son-in-law Jacob Goodman, a guardianfor my grandchild Henrietta Warner, and he shall take her part in hand as soon as possible after my decease. But if hjer father William Warner shold take her away he shall pay sixty dollars as a recompense for the trouble we had with her from her infancy, but if he continues to live with my son, Solomon, until she arrives at the age of eighteen years, then shall my executors give her a cow, bed and bedstead, a bureau of English chest, my son Solomon shall giver her a spinning wheel, saddle and bridle, six pewter plaes and a decent suti, as pots, spoons,knoves and forks, a pewter dish, and a pewter plate, he shall continue to send her to school until she can read welland write a tolerable good hand, he shall give her privilege to continue the examinatgion before the minister.
10th - It ismy will that my son Solomon take under his care and protection, John Japhta Bost, my daughter Sophia's son after my decease and it is left ot his chioceto go to a trade at the age of eighteen, such as he chooses and if so my son Solomon shall pay him forty dollars after he has his trade. But if in case the said John J Bost continues to live with him until he arrives at the age of twenty-one than he shal give him a horse worth sixty dollars with a saddle and bridle. Likewise a freedom suit of clothes besides the forty dollars
11th - It is my will that my executors shalmake sale as convenient after my decease ofall my property personal and likewise after my wife Catherines decease. And whereas I am in debt to my mother-in-law Elizabeth Leipart, now if my son, Solomon shoujld pay the interest, or any part of the principal of said debt the same shall be refunded with interest to him out of my estate, that is, if he pays it of his own money and not of the estate's money.
12th - It is my will that my son Solomon, give to his other yearlya nd every year eight bushels of corn and one hundred weight of flour the corn he is totake tothe hmill and back for her when requested.
13th - I give and bequeath unto m son Daniel Misenheimer, two dollars to be paid im by my executors after collecting the money arising from the sale, which sum together with what land I have givenhim before this is my last will and testament i consider to make him equal with one of the rest of my child..
14th It is my will that if there is any money left after the discharge of my lawful debts, it shall be equally divided among my daughters and my granddaughter Henrietta Warner
15th - AnmdI do hereby appoint and constitute Peer Leipard as my holeand sole executgor to make a good and warranted deed to y son Solomon s good and ample as if I were present that is for the land bequeathed to him by this my last will and tetament.
16th - And I do hereby consittute and apoint my son-in-law Peter Leipard and my son Solomon Misenheimer, executors of this my last will and Testament, and I o hereby annual and make void all other wills, ratifying and confirmingthis and no other to be my last will and Testament.
