There is also Hugh, John, and Nathan Morgan in Rowan County NC.3

James Morgan died in 1840 at Yancey County, North Carolina.1 He Research by Tom Morgan of Troy, NC indicates that James Morgan, Jr. served two tours in the Revolutionary War. After the war, James parents sold their land [600 acres in the NE corner of present day Randolph Co NC] and moved about 10 miles north to a smaller farm near Greensboro in Guilford Co, NC. James Jr. lived with his parents and when his father died ca 1810, James Jr sold the farm in 1811. James Jr. then left the area for SC and other places and was a traveling preaching that never married. He retired to Yancey Co NC in 1834 where he died in 1840 (ca age 80) - email from Ralph H. Morgan.1
