He was living in Watertown, MA in 1642, and was admitted freeman in 1643. He owned a homestead of twelve acres and alarge tract of land, an was well-to-do. Mrs McPherson lived in Boone from her marriage until her death, except for a short time in Perry. She did practical nursing in Boone for a while, was secretary of the YWCA for 10 years, and then was appointed police matron of the city of Boone and performed that duty for 32 years until her retirement in 1941.

As a child Mrs McPherson had played dramatics with her cousin, who later was known as the famous actress, Lillian Russell. Mrs McPherson was also talented in acting and used her ability in many groups in Boone.

Toward the end of her life she lived at the Swedish Home and died in the Boone county hospital. She leaved to mourn her death her son, Clyde J. McPherson and his wife, two granddaughters, three grandsons.4
