Christopher Washington Keller from History of Alexander, Union, and Pulaski Counties Illinois, p. 185:
Christopher W Keller, farmer, PO Jonesboro, was born March 5 1810 in Rowan County North Carolina. He like many people who were raised where the schools of the country were conducted on the old fashion subscription plan , never enjoyed the privilege of a good education. A great part of his youth was spent in suppporting his aged mother. When quite young he came to this country, where he was married to Nancy Lence, who bore him six children, of whom Lucinda Meisenheimer, Tempa Meienheimer, Matilda Knupp, Jackson Keller and Eli Keller are now living.
