John Hayward was born on 20 October 1640 at Concord, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.2,1 He married Anna White at Concord, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, on 2 June 1671.3 John Hayward was mentioned in the Land and Estate Transaction of Peregrine White and Obadiah Wheeler on 22 June 1710 at Concord, Middlesex County, Massachusetts; Resolved White, father of Elizabeth, had a brother, Peregrine, who in turn had a son, Peregrine. This Peregrine White, therefore, was first cousin of Elizabeth White, daughter of Resolved. On 22 Jun 1710 Obadiah Wheeler, son of the Obadiah Wheeler who married Elizabeth White, solda lot of land from his own farm in Concord to this Peregrine White (Middlesex Deeds, vol. 16, p. 399). The transaction included a house, or material for a house, though Peregrine didnot long own it or long reside there, for he, being then of Concord, sold the premises to Richard kates of Boston on 29 Mar 1713 (Ib, Vol. 16, p.497). That there was something more to the situation than a mere absentee business transaction involving real estate, between Obadiah Wheeler and Peregrine White, is shown by the fact that Peregrine White had rights in a pew in the Concord meeting house, and sold these rights to Kates with the farm.
Why Peregrine White should have gone out to Concord and bought a farm of Obadiah Wheeler, and why he owned a part of a pewin the Concord meeting huse are something of a mystery, unless one remembers that his own cousin, Elizabeth, was probably the wifeof Obadiah Wheeler, that another cousin, Anna, was probably the wife of John Hayward, and that the aunt of Elizabeth andAnna Whte, Frances (Vassall) Adams, who was also a sister-in-law of Resolved White, the uncle of Peregrine White of Concord, had been a resident of Concord.4 John Hayward died on 22 November 1718 at Concord, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, at age 78.2,1 He (an unknown value.)2,1

FatherResolved White1 b. 1614, d. bt 1688 - 1705
MotherJudith Vassall1 b. 1619, d. 3 Apr 1670
Anna White was born on 4 June 1649 at Scituate, Plymouth County, Massachusetts; citing Vital Records of Scituate, vol 1, p. 409.2 They witnessed Judith Vassall's death at Marshfield Center, Plymouth County, Massachusetts, on 3 April 1670. Just prior to these events, on 3 Apr 1670, Frances' sister, Judith (Vassall) White, wife of Resolved White and molther of Elizabeth and Anna, haddied (Register Vol.8, p. 192) and the home ws to this extent broken up. That a more complete break followed soon, if not at once, is indicated by the fact that ResolvedWhite was at Salem as early as 5 Oct 1674, when he married there Abigail lord, widow (Vital Records of Salem, vol. 4, p. 462). How long he was engaged in his second courtship isnot definately determined; but William Lord's will was proved 24 June 1673, and therefore his widow, Abigail, presumably was free to marry again by or perhaps before this date. Resolved White may have been in Salem evenearly, but he was certainly there at the date noted..3 She married John Hayward at Concord, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, on 2 June 1671.2 Her married name was Hayward.1 Anna White was mentioned in the Land and Estate Transaction of Peregrine White and Obadiah Wheeler on 22 June 1710 at Concord, Middlesex County, Massachusetts; Resolved White, father of Elizabeth, had a brother, Peregrine, who in turn had a son, Peregrine.
